This one piece Nativity is also a music box. It plays Silent Night. It may or may not be from France. I can't remember where I got it from, but my notes say, "French Cloisonné. Cloisonné is a technic of applying enamels to an object. First a fine line of wire is applied that forms a barrier to keep the enamels in place. After the wire, the enamels are painted in, and then the piece is fired in a kiln. The wire line also serves to define and outline the subject.
