USA, Utah

When my youngest daughter Clarissa Baxter was a little girl she especially enjoyed Dreamsicle collectables. I purchased this set for her along with a large porcelain creche'. She enjoyed it for a year but seemed to grow out of it. I always thought the little people looked like Lexi Overson, a little girl that Clarissa babysat and played with. I also purchased a set for Kristi Overson thinking the same thing. Their big eyes and pastel colors beg to be loved.

The artist and maker of the Dreamsicle brand is Kristin Haynes. She was born in Utah, and I can find very little information about her except for a few news articles saying that she and her husband went to prison for tax evasion regarding the money they made from this product. Kristin and her husband were sentenced to 2 years and 3.5 years in prison. Kristen does not appear to be a member of the church but a member of another denomination.

In the top picture the set is shown with the creche, also shown is a painting of a little girl playing with the Nativity in her home. The year of this display, I wanted to show how the Nativity could be displayed in our homes. There were several other vignettes depicting home scenes also. The framed puzzle is of a very detailed nativity painting put together by Karen Haw and family. The puzzle picture belongs to Karen.
